The Mississippi Kites are back in the neighborhood again this summer.
Enjoy watching them soar high during the day and chase down locust/cicadas in the morning and at dusk.
Low light conditions so picture quality not as good as I had hoped for.

Look how wings and wing feathers are made. Long wing span for soaring and catching wind thermals coupled with thick talons for grasping prey. Light colors to blend in from above enabling a swift and deadly attack. A very capable predator !
