Will probably not get shot in Oak Park (my home town) and will certainly not get shot in very affluent River Forest immediately to the west, but other than that your map is pretty accurate.

Is rapist male or female? If female, let me know. We have flights arranged, hotel booked, and Cubs game nailed down so far. Staying at Embassy Suites, Magnificent Mile and gonna watch the Cardinals vs Cubs on Sept 24. rj.....I took your advice on seating. We're 10 rows from field between 1B and RF. Gotta figure out where to take the bride to eat, next. If I can't please her any other way, it's always a home run when taking her to swanky restaurants.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Rossi's best dive bar downtown, I believe is cash only. Take the architectural boat tour while enjoying a bloody mary.

I was born in Chicago and most of my family is still there. I have taken many wife and kids to Chicago many times. Here are some tips in no particular order:

1. Pizza - Giordano's or Lou Malnati's (everyone has their favorite - think Coke vs Pepsi). The pizzas take a while to cook and fill you up fast, so be careful with how much you order or you will leave with a big doggie bag. I believe there are more Giordano's, including a block from Willis Tower.

2. City Pass
Includes admission to 5 attractions for one price. And, if you buy online, they offer discounts. Much cheaper than paying at the door for each.

a. Shedd Aquarium (great aquarium on the lake front)
b. Willis Tower Skydeck (formerly Sears Tower) Skydeck - They open at 9am, get in line by 8:30am or you will wait in LONG lines in confined spaces
c. Field Museum (great museum next to the Aquarium and across the street from Soldier Field)

and 2 of these 3:
- Art Institute of Chicago
- Museum of Science and Industry (Cool but not in a great part of town, so take uber or cab)
- 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck

3. Wrigley Field - even if not a Cubs fan, its a must go. The park can be reached via the Red Line of the "L" trains. Travelling with a bunch of Cubs fans on he train and you won't be in much danger (as long as you are not wearing White Sox apparel). Lots of stores, vendors, bars, statues outside of the park. Take a photo in front of the red marquee in front of the park before the game.

4. Architectural river boat tour - Is very informative

5. Hot Dogs - get one and top it Chicago-style, including the pickle

6. Soldier Field tour - I haven't done it, but heard it is good

7. Navy Pier - It is ok, more of place for families to bring kids. Best part is boat ride on Lake Michigan at night

8. White Sox game = pass

9. You can charter a Lake Michigan fishing trip out of downtown Chicago. Some offer "no fish, no pay".

10. Italian beef sandwich and chocolate cake from Portillo's

I’ve done wrigley and comisky (new), navy pier, the river tour (on an absolutely perfect weather day), numerous top end restaurants. Just watch where you go
