If you had dropped it in saltwater, it would have been an exercise in futility to even search for it. Good move on getting it back and rehabbing it! I once dropped an outboard motor part under my boat in a marina. It took a looong time to find it among the beer cans! IslandJim

In years past, I would have told you to just forget it and go get another phone. Not nowadays, though. Phones are WAY too dang expensive to get a new one.

Wow, thatโ€™s crazy. I still got a phone at the bottom of GV Lake for 15 years. I conceded.

Do you know that if you plug your phone into your computer every night to charge, it will automatically backup? If you backup to the cloud and you have to buy a new phone they can restore everything to your phone.

As a backup FYI - Also check how your phone conducts the backup (plug-in, Wifi, cellular). Mine was set to backup when connected to WiFi. I turned WiFi off because I was having trouble getting a signal, and I forgot to turn it back on. About a month later my screen went bad. I could power it up, but I could not do anything and it would not backup because WiFi was turned off. I also could not hard wire to the PC because it gave me a message to verify the connection, which I could not do because the screen didn't work. At the end of the day, I lost the last month of photos & contacts. Like others said, keep up to date on back ups and/or make sure the auto backups are happening.

Chis D if you had an I-phone you could have bought a new screen for less than $30. You will get all tools and instructions to change it out.

I guess I am more buoyant than he is. Lol I kept floating up. He sank like a rock. He was just lucky I guess.
