Almost 6 weeks ago I dropped my phone over board on lake tawakoni. Went out twice to try and find it with no luck. Well last week went out with a guy from my bass club. I had talked to him and told him what had happened and he said he could find it. He was out there pre fishing for a tournament and I met him there when I got off work. I took him to where It had gone over board. He jumped in and within 10 minutes he found it. I took it home and took a shop vac to it. Sucked out as much water as I could. I plugged it in and it came on. I couldn't believe it. It was late so I went to bed. Next day tried and cut it on and it wouldn't cut on. It was toast. I called a phone repair store and they told me it was either 2 things. The battery or the screen. I ordered a screen and battery. Took the phone apart. Cleaned all the corrosion out of it waited for parts to come in the mail. Parts came. Put it back together. Cut it on and bingo. I was able to retrieve and transfer all pics (my deceased mother, daughter, all my fish pics) and text to my new phone and transfer contacts off the sim card. That phone was on the bottom of lake tawakoni for a month. I guess momma wanted me to have it back. She was smiling down me.

Whoa! Glad you got everything sorted. Lucky break. I wonder if my phone at the bottom of the local creek could be salvaged? It's been in there for 3 years now!

That's pretty amazing. And as a reminder, everyone should be backing up your phone either to your computer or to the cloud. I have a reminder set to tell me to back mine up every other Friday.
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." - Samuel Adams

Nice to hear.
Several years ago the spouse found a blackberry in the ditch while antelope hunting, it had obviously been there since the year before, over winter. We brought it home. Our son soaked it in alcohol for a few days and ordered a new cheap battery for it. It came right on. The only thing he could access was a pic of the guys Wyoming hunting licenses, his antelope tag. I googled him, he is an insurance guy in Nebraska and his contact info came up. I emailed him and told him about then phone, he was ecstatic. He lost in the year before and it had all his contacts in it. We send it to him and he volunteered to pay for the battery and shipping, we simply requested a donation to a local charity instead and he did that to his local fire dept.
Had he not taken a pic of his tag we would have been able to find him, the phone was locked. Back up all your contacts and pics if you keep them on your phone.

Man that’s crazy. Kind of makes me want to go after mine I lost in lake Whitney. 28’ deep but my buddy is a scuba diver…. I figured those contacts were gone regardless….

When we got there. He took his shirt off, shoes off, emptied his pockets and jumped over board. Took a deep breath and went under. Went to the bottom, which was 4 to 5 ft, come up for air and then repeat. Sorry guys no livescope. Lol
