Awesome to see that little lady learning to fish. Glad you got them on fish, looks like they all had a great time.

She picked it up pretty quick and I let her do her thing. She caught some nice ones and had great timing on when to set the hook!

I have a tub of Stubbys I'm anxious to put to work. How are you rigging the bait? What size treble hook is best? Is it better to use the treble hook with the rings that hold the bait longer? Are you right on bottom or a few reels up? Is using straight braid (vs using a mono leader) going to effect the bite? Also, when done, is it best to keep the tub in the fridge? If the cheesebait gets old, how do you "revive"?? Thanks much for the help.

If the cheesebait gets old, how do you "revive"?? Thanks much for the help. We use a #4 treble hook with no springs. We also use straight braid, no leader. Normally we bait holes with range cubes a day before and fish next day. 99% of the time we fish about a turn up from bottom. If it is not windy , we don’t use any weight at all. When you start using weight, sensitivity is reduced. Lots of times you get bit before it hits bottom. We also use medium light spinning rods. Most of the time people use way too heavy action. When you feel the “tap, tap” leave it alone. Wait until they pull the rod tip down about 2 inches and then set the hook. In the warmer weather we keep the bait cool. It is made with cheese and cheese gets soft when it is hot outside. Our phone numbers are posted everywhere, so don’t hesitate to call. And thanks for trying the bait. Just put in the fridge when done using. If the bait gets dry, punch a hole to the bottom of tub and add a very small amount of water. Some say use vegetable oil, use water.
