The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our sixth members only tournament of 2021 last Saturday July 10th on Lake Lavon. They finally closed the gates so the lake had stabilized a little. 27 teams came out to fish with us. We started in the dark at 5:00AM and not far in to the morning a stiff breeze picked up. Strange but welcome for mid July. Fishing was good for some and not for others as we had 8 limits but 11 zeroes although I know a few boats tossed fish back without weighing them to cut down on mortality. When we were done. Lavon stalwarts Adam Vesely and Taylor Gauntt won going away with a bag of 21 pounds even anchored by twin 6 pounders. Big bass of the event went to Bruce Anderson and Dameon Scott with a 6.39. Weigh master Paul Spann had one fish



Brian Brooks had a 3.19



A rare sighting of Stan Browning in the wild. He and David Choate had two for 5.05



Robert Hitt and John Bruner had four for 7.53



Bruce Anderson and Dameon Scott had a limit for 13.54



Their bag included big bass of the tournament, a 6.39 hawg



Just missing the money were David Burton and Jamie Norris with five for an adjusted 13.64

Sixth place went to Keith Taylor and James Weir who had four fish for a solid 13.82



Fifth place went to Josh Mulkey and Tim Havins with five for 14.61. Their bag was anchored by a 4.93



Fourth place went to Russell Olds and Matt Jackson who continued their good year with a limit that went 15.25



Their kicker fish went 6.08



Third place went to Jeremy McLeroy and Cody Stewart with a nice sack full of 3 pounders that weighed 15.37



Second place went to Chris Atkinson and myself with a solid limit that weighed 17.23



Winning bag went a stout 21 pounds and they were caught by Adam Vesely and Taylor Gauntt



Anchoring their bag were two fish that went 5.99 and 5.97 respectively. Well done boys!
