I'm fishing Port A for the first time tomorrow (Thurs & Fri). I'm going in blind. Staying near the public launch by the Ferry dock. Plan to fish Redfish Bay and then see what the wind is like to determine to fish the pass or not. Hoping I can easily find live bait and if anyone is out, below is a pic of my rig (with wife and mother-in-law). Any tips, advice, suggestions for Reds/Trout/Other are welcome. Thanks!

Not much help for today but tomorrow the forecast isn't great in terms of fishing conditions IMO. Not a lot of tide in the morning and winds are supposed to be cranking to 20 mph but you never know.

With no trolling motor you'll have to either anchor up, drift or wade. If the wind and tide will work, when you leave the port aransas harbor turn left. After you pass where the ferries cross on the left side is some docks. There's rocks all along this area. You can't tie up to the docks but you can fish all around them.

Or you can drift east flats. May need a popping cork for this area.

You get out of it what you put into it!

Hey thanks! I scouted around today, fish up in the flats but no luck. Pretty windy and nobody really reported any good catches. Will see what plays out tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Met a guy at the dock from Ft. Worth. We teamed up and headee up Aransas Channel. Foubd the right opening to the right place and wore ourselves out with Specks and a few Reds. Most 12-13" specks so only a handful each take home but great fish tacos! [Linked Image]
