Only had a couple of hours so I fished Spread Creek near Jackson Hole. The creek fished well and the cutthroats were looking up. Caught 6 cutthroats and 1 rainbow. Average size was about 11 -12 inches for the ones I caught on size 12 Elk Hair Caddis. The largest was about 18 inches and hit a Chernoble Ant (Black & white). Great fight!
Most of the streams in Yellowstone and that area of Wyoming were starting to run clear though some were still a little high and fast. I also made a few cast in a river I'd never explored the Tongue River near Dayton Wyoming. It was running a little high but dark clear. I caught 1 nice Brown Trout on a large dark brown nymph)about size 8).
Good trip sight seeing through Yellowstone with a little fishing thrown in. The bears were active in the park, along with the elk. Outside the park we even saw a badger. Interesting trip.
Tight lines!
