They are talking a 4% COLA for 2022. Biggest raise since I started drawing it. But Medicare will get most of it.

With the skyrocketing price of prescriptions, groceries, housing and utilities a 4% COLA increase won’t even begin to cover it. There are millions of Senior Citizens in terrible health still having to work while our Government paid millions of healthy young people NOT to work. What happened to Biden’s campaign promise to raise SS by 200.00 a month? Something is very wrong with this picture.

Thankfully my parents are in great financial shape, I was talking to my dad the other day and somehow the topic got to what him and my mom draw on social security. My monthly fuel bill is more than they would have to live on if SS were their only means of income.

I will not get it. I was an idiot. I saved my money. Worked overtime. Tried not to buy on credit.

I am punished by the government for my wrongful ways.

I’m not looking for a 4% raise.
I’m looking at going from 7.50 an hour to 15 an hour.
You know what I mean?

You old farts have already got your slice of the pie (old white guys complaining... That's a classic example of white privilege)... Now move over and let the people you've oppressed get a seat at the table... Move along... Just die... Dan

Us old fats worked our azzes off for years without complaining cause it was contributing to the fund that was helping our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. And as a small business owner I had to match all the SSI and Medicare deducts for my employees.

What chaps me is all the talk of helping the "underserved" portions of society by raising the min. wage to $15/hr. That's over $30K/yr if you have a 40 hr job. The folks now drawing social security (which is not and entitlement) get raises of 1-1.5% per year if lucky. Some years, after deducting the increases in Medicare premiums, your disposable income actually goes down. Anyone with half a brain know what will happen when that wage goes up. People will lose jobs and prices will increase to the end users (including us old farts) and it will just get worse for the fixed income folks.

I'm going to be fine due to pensions and living my retirement plan of having no debts, but a lot of folks I know are hurting, and the senior citizens seem to be the forgotten segment of our society. Most of us never looked for a handout from the government, but the WOKE idiots never stop holding out their hands and asking for more.

Rant over!

I hear tell in 1983 Biden was the deciding vote to begin taxing the tax known as Social Security ...of course factcheck disputes that. Reagan should have vetoed that but didn't so here we are...Biden has been mooching off the taxpayer back far too long.
