Running down the lake, at 28 mph, due to chop and momma was aboard...and wham! The motor just revs up and we stall...Like I hit something, but I didnt. I was in 22ft of water, in a spot I know for a fact has no hidden stumps.

So, I check it for rope or anything else. Prop is clear. I then re-fire, and roll it over, and we putt fwd...

Try to give it more gas, and the engine just revs, and we go no where...

What the heck? Second issue with this new Yamaha...

Spun your prop hub pards. Not your motors fault.

I think Pat is correct, sounds like your prop hub let go. i would take it to a prop shop and have them check it before taking your motor in.

Take it to B&B propellers. They will fix you up and are out your direction. If it is a yamaha prop then it has to have the hub pressed in. If it is a Merc prop then you can get a hub kit at any authorized dealer and fix it yourself.

It normally happens from an impact though...possible floater or hit something previously and was weakened then it finally let go.

Not a big deal...but I would check to make sure the prop shaft isn't bent while you are at it.

I second the recomendation for B&B propellers in RIchland Hills.

You might want to consider picking up a used prop from them while your there and keep it in the boat as a spare. They do excellent work! thumb

No one is going to warranty a spun hub...that is a self induced deal.
