Don't Pablo's. They used to give each place leeway in how they cooked. Ours was outstanding. Then the company forces them to standardize. It was never the same.

Bandit said Bonanza and I still remember the one in Austin being good. San Angelo had one that didnt make it. Night Hawk in Austin was good and of course had frozen food but I didnt know how many sit-down units they had back in the day.

Let's not forget Pizza hut, it was great in the 80s. Amen... The Original Pan Pizza... Oh my!!!... All restaurants went down hill when they changed over to the cooking oil they're using now... KFC went down hill also. If they stayed with what they do best we'd all be better off... I mean I go to a wing joint for wing, not a taco burrito or potpie... Dan

Whataburger. Sold to yanks. The last time I got food there it was literally inedible. Same location a month prior was fine. It’s nothing the same as back in the 80’s-90’s but I have not noticed any difference since the recent sale.

Loved both places, we very rarely went out to eat when I was a kid but if we did it was usually one of those two.

I wish wienerschnitzel would rise from the ashes and be as great as they have the potential to be. I loved that place. Best chili cheese dogs EVER!!! Unfortunately none of the chains are very good anymore. I try hard not to eat at chain restaurant. IMO the independent owners of restaurants have better food.

I Could sit in the parking lot with a bag of chili dogs and weep with enjoyment. Chili dripping from my elbows, mustard on the steering wheel.

There used to be, a long time ago, Late 80's, 90's, a restaurant in Garland on Northwest Highway called Judge Roy Beans. It was a great little burger place. They had a menu like Chili's. Their burgers were awesome and you could order french fries with cheddar cheese melted on top and they were good. The walls were plastered with $1 bills that people would write their names on. Not a fancy place but good food for a fair price.
