My first time fishing a trail event with the NETXKBL. It was their last regular season trail event. It was also a tri-lake event. We could fish any of the 3 lakes for the day. Bob Sandlin, Cypress Springs, or Lake Welsh. My obvious choice was Lake Welsh and it was most people’s choice that day as well. We could launch at 5am and first cast was 5:30am lines out was 2:00 pm. I had a great day! Here was how it went down for me.

Nicely done! Pretty ballzy throwing a bait in the slop with a spinning rod there! But it got you the first fish and told you where some more were

Thanks guys! and JPeel lol it was kinda dumb not so much ballzy. Thankfully that was a MH Fenwick spinning rod with 30lb braid and a 17lb flouro leader it was still under powered for the job but just enough that the fish didn’t get off and I was able to pull it out. I quickly went to the baitcaster to get the job handled. That spinning setup was meant for me to fish the outside edge of the grass lines that day. Back last November that setup killed it with a 7” power worm hitting the outside edges.

I was planning on fishing that tournament but something came up. Loved the video. I am jealous of your rig, I would love a trolling motor. What camera did you use to film this and what was camera mounted to.
Lets go fishing

I was planning on fishing that tournament but something came up. Loved the video. I am jealous of your rig, I would love a trolling motor. What camera did you use to film this and what was camera mounted to. I have an older Pelican Catch 120 with a Kevin Dismuke trolling motor setup nothing too fancy but it works great. As for the camera its an SJCAM sj6 Legend camera. Its on a homemade pole stuck in my rod holder behind me. The camera runs off a 8ah battery and has a 128gig sd card so I can just hit record once and forget about it the rest of the day and focus on fishing the tournament. I don’t take my youtube channel serious just like to record and share my trips. Sadly I only get to fish once maybe twice a month out of the kayak since like February and it’s usually a kayak tournament when I do get out or maybe a prefish a few weeks before that. Glad you enjoyed the video wish you could have made it out fir the tournament it was fun until that storm got kinda wild and the wind picked up. The ride back to the ramp was pretty rough.
