Not just those victims in the collapsed building. Think about those whose condo was part of the same building….Would you be comfortable sleeping there?
How big a hit do you figure the value of surviving condos took?
If your unit had no damage…I don’t think insurance would cover you.
Bad deal all around. Prayers out to all those impacted…
they will condemn it all to demolition and I would bet no one is allowed back in to recover belongings. watching the video it looks like something kicked the ground columns out, like they would do on an explosives demo. not a good situation for any of the residents. Yep, no way they let anyone back in.

The consequence of living in a third world country. Can you give us an example of a first and second world country? Why do still live here?

The consequence of living in a third world country. What a stupid [censored] thing to say I get what he is saying. I live down here, and Miami is a 3rd world country. People are idiots, nobody speaks English, they cant drive for chit, and they fix things in the cheapest way possible. Im sure there have been massive payouts with inspections on that building. The salty air on our coastline takes its toll on buildings from the inside out. Its just a matter of time till something like this happens to one of them high rises. There will be investigations and they will get to the bottom of the corrupted cause im sure.

The consequence of living in a third world country. What a stupid [censored] thing to say Buildings fall. Bridges fail. Power systems, in the richest energy state, in the richest energy producing nations....ever, fails! Internets failing. Banking system corrupted. the Fed printing money faster than they can get paper. Our federal government is totally corrupted....up to and especially counting the Flag ranked officers. No, this is a tragedy, but it is a tragedy of greed, incompetence, and out and out criminal activities. We DO live in a third world country. Either admit it, or change it.* *That's not happening. I'm gagging on my own words as I write them, but Stewie, those are all valid points. The US is also 46th in life expectancy and around 25th in infant mortality, so there's that only blood will change it.....and this generation has no taste for it, nor ability to bring it about.

couple articles saying the building had been sinking since the 1990s at like 2mm a year. Someone was keeping it on the hush, they published a study on it in 2020

I feel for the people that were in the building but this is the kind of stuff that happens when you drain a slough and build on it. Lawyers are going to have a field day with this one.
