Family is everything!

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

None of the above.

I'm not a father and I haven't spoken to my father in 23 years. It is my brother-in-law's birthday, so we may be doing something at their house, I'm not sure.

One thing that has really been cool to see is how my friend's dad has played a role in his recovery. When I first started going over there, my friend's mom would leave the room and just let me work. He was in a lot of pain so most of the time I did light work to make the pain manageable. His dad stayed in the room one day when he was there.... but every time my friend would experience pain, his dad would pull out his phone and look at it. He couldn't stand seeing his son hurt. Since then, I've taught both his parents how to massage him so when I'm not there, they can help with the pain and speed his recovery. When my friend's mom had her gallbladder removed this last week, the bathing and helping him with the bathroom stuff fell upon his dad...and yesterday, seeing his dad grin ear to ear before breaking down in tears watching his son take his first steps....

I did not win the lottery when it came to fathers. My father is a waste of human flesh that should be buried 1000 feet beneath the nearest prison, so this day has never meant a dang thing to me. But after watching my friend's dad, I will celebrate him and how he treats his kids. There are really good people out there that take parenting seriously, thankfully my mom is one, but to all you that are fathers and treat your kids with love, respect, and dignity, I salute you. May God bless you all!

I chose “they cook for me” but I doubt that will happen. Maybe the wife will pick up something, maybe.

Maybe she'll let you clean the pool and grill some burgers while she and the kids swim?

none of the above, I'm usually working and kids are with the ex-wife. But last year I did get to fish a fathers day derby. Usually work prevents the family stuff.

First year I got my Big Green Egg, I did a brisket for Father’s Day. Woke up at 8am to find my temp controller battery went dead and my pit had been at 450 for few hours. I salvaged enough brisket to fill a sandwich baggie and made it burger toppings.

I have no idea how this will play out.
