I have not seen a Rio like that either. Beautiful fish.  Side Note: Could it be a Hybrid Rio?

That is one healthy Rio...beautiful. I've never heard of a hybrid Rio as they are not part of the Sunfish family. They are Cichlids. But I may be wrong. I believe those striking colors are a result of the water they came from. Irregardless, that is one mighty fine Rio.

Cool color patterns on that Rio Side note: is the water at Casa Blanca still low? Also did you catch any crappie?
