They both work well on showing depth. I’d go with the cheaper of the two if all you’re wanting is depth.

If you have the minn kota spot lock feature, or plan to ever install this type of TL get the Hummingbird Helix.. They will work together and you can pick a waypoint a command the TL to spot lock right on the waypoint. Just My .02..

Ok. Joking aside…I have Carbons and like them just fine. I had Helix units to go with my Ultrex and sold them. The few features I lost with regard to the Helix/Ultrex, were made up for(and then some) with sonic hub and PowerPole integration on the Carbons.
I voted Carbons with my wallet, I’d suggest the same for you.

if you ever wanna network/sync everything up so its one system just get all the same brand of whatever TM you have or plan to buy. If none of that matters and just talking graphs alone no other factors....humminbird hands down. better mapping, especially if you fish a popular lake and the SI and DI is clearly better than the rest.....not by a ton but if doing a side by side HB will look better than lowrance....in my opinion.

if you ever wanna go live....id second this. but im just going off screenshots and youtube videos. I think HB has DI and SI on lock....and Garmin has live imaging on lock. Both are the best at those things....too bad HB live didnt look better than I saw

I would get the Lowrance myself. I don't have their live but it looks as good or better than Garmin's to me. Sonar and down image is the best and their maps update faster when running fast zoomed in.

I recently left lowrance and went all Garmin. I couldn’t be happier.
