As I was fishing this past weekend, I went to move a mustang grape vine that was overhanging the river and noticed something attached to the vine. could u tell what the nest was made of...???...gr8 pikshur...i've never seen that either

We have had a few in the trees in our from yard, but they have always been to high up and near the ends of the limbs. Neat to see the chicks, that is a first for me.

could u tell what the nest was made of...???...gr8 pikshur...i've never seen that either I did study it awhile and it looks to me like the inside is made of some kind of tree pollen that falls out here. It looks like dandelion pollen but is much finer and softer. Then that is coverd with spider webs and then stuck to the webs is moss off the oak trees. Then the whole thing is wrapped in more spider webs.

We have a large bunch oh hummers visiting this year and they are working on 7 feeders and a ton of blooms of various nature- but we have never seen a nest and wondered what they look like! Thanks for the great pictures!

You will now begin to look for their nests , and find all sorts of tiny wildlife not noticed in the past. Good find , Mother Nature is awesome.
