Had Neil and his buddy Bob back out on Lake Palestine with me again. These guys might like to fish!!
We had a strong wind so I fished another area of the lake. But we made it happen with a nice mess of fish.
Let talk about the Technology that is available to fishermen now days. Livescope has changed everything about fishing for me. I’m a timber fishermen and livescope is perfect for this.
The one thing that amazes me is how particular crappie are to the presentation of a bait. I see it day after day and year after year. They don’t like sudden movements. The way you move a bait, and the timing of the movement of the bait is very critical. And will determine whether you get a bite or not a lot of the times. And if you move that bait in a way that the fish doesn’t like it. I Promise you most of the time, he’s done with it and isn’t going to bite.
You can have all the different colors of bait and the size of the bait you want. It’s all in how aggressive the fish are and the presentation of the bait. That determines whether you’re gonna get the fish in the boat or not. So many people worry about what kind of bait or what color of bait they have on.
Is all about covering water and looking for aggressive fish especially in the summertime. The biggest thing I see a crappie fishermen do wrong is sit there in one spot to long. On a good day of fishing only 20 to 30 percent of the fish are going bite. If I can get one fish off a tree I’m happy. I don’t care if there is 12 fish on the tree.
To be honest with you I don’t even want to fish a tree with that many fish on it. . I’d rather fish tree that has one or two fish on it. Them are the fish that will bite most of the time. Trees with big numbers of fish on them, seem to get attitude problems and don’t wanna bite a lot of the time.
Summer is here and the bite will be getting tougher some days. But you can still put numbers in the boat if you know how to fish for them.
Thanks guys again for a great day on the water. Enjoyed having you again!!!

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
