Here is the new unrestricted state record bluegill I caught Plnor fishing. This may be the last bluegill state record in the other methods category, since Texas Parks and Wildlife is changing the state record program. The bluegill weighed 1.18 pounds and I caught it using a whole worm on a 2-hook rig.

Great colors! Eh do these fish change colors depending on sunlight exposure or is it genetic? I keep thinking of doing a very large native fish aquarium.

Fish color depends on many factors. Genetics, breeding condition, water quality, stress, and food intake can all influence fish color.

What a beautiful fish. I bet he pulled hard. What do you mean by a two hook rig? Sometimes when I am crappie fishing I will use tandem jigs. Is that what you are doing with the worms?

I hook the worm in the head with the top hook and then put the second hook in the other end. It is an effective rig for all kinds of fish.
