So in the dog days of summer when a lot of tournaments are being won deep and off shore, will those people have also fished shallow that morning? Or would they start deep?

Sometimes the best offshore bite is at daybreak.

I don't know about anyone winning tournaments, sure isn't me, but I never ever miss an opportunity to fish shallow early, just because it is my favorite way to fish.

Start deep & stay deeper but deep is relative

I’m going to work on my off shore this summer cuz I suck at it. Just wondering if the guys that a good at it even bother with shallow early.

Nope. Start deep at daybreak and stay deep early & all day. But there’s a couple hammers here that will tell you fish live shallow year round. To each his own.
