Is it just me or that everytime someone post something about a guide, or going to a lake they are bombared with:

hey use my guide service we are the best! "Guarantee to catch a limit!" check me out at: www.wecantfish.com

or someone asking about topwater or fishing a spot and it is:

Check out my lures, these slabs will catch your limit and some! we have a website here: www.myluressink.com

Or I plan on going to Lake X this weekend anyone recommend a place to fish or eat....and you get this:

Hey check out my lodging, best on the lake...oh yeah, I am a guide and I also will cook for you...check me out at www.pullupacot.com

Honestly I think that this whole cycle of these people that are jumping on here and telling people fish with me, stay at my place, eat at my resturant, is getting a little out of control.

I have a store on Lake Texoma and I have never pushed it down anyones throat!

My opinion is if you have a good guide service, a good place to stay, a good place to eat, or a good shop to shop at...then people will recommend it...

These are my opinions, but after reading the last several post I got irritated...

Once again, these are my opinions...

J.J.

Texas Fishing Forum (TFF)
Guidelines / Rules of Conduct

Our forum requires that you sign up to become a member. We do this in order to control content on the board.

1. Please keep the topics in the main forum areas fishing related. There are some instances where we allow post outside topic, but if you find that your post was deleted or moved, it is because we deemed it inappropriate to the section in which you posted, or it was in violation of other rules in this section. We have set up an Off Topic section for open discussion - please post your non-fishing related comments there.

2. All questions concerning TFF policies and management are addressed offline via email or telephone. Comments concerning deleted post, posting privilege suspensions, or other matters of the administrative nature will be deleted. If you have a question about policy, please email one of our moderators. Again, don't take your problems to the forum - they will be deleted. Please email suggestions@texasfishingforum.com.

3. No foul language. The are a few colorful words we occasionally let slide, but their overuse will result in a warning. There are a few that never need to be used we dont need to mention them. Foul language makes the TFF look trashy. When writing, it is very easy to express yourself without cursing. Use **** if you need to. Sponsors make this site possible and it is much easier to get them interested if the site is a little cleaner than your average Internet forum.

4. We promote a friendly atmosphere for anglers to exchange ideas. Differences of opinions are welcome and are an important part of this format. We do not, however, tolerate those that try to start an argument with every post. If you are looking to agitate people, simply to get a response, or if you are a troller, this is not the place for you. Warnings are issued, and if the behavior continues, administrators will revoke posting privileges.

5. No personal attacks if you disagree with someone, state your case intelligently and back it up with facts. We will not tolerate personal attacks. You will be warned once. If the behavior continues, you will be banned from the forum. DO NOT HARASS PEOPLE WITH EMAIL WHEN YOU HAVE A DISAGREEMENT ON THIS FORUM.

6. Do not try to solve personal problems live on the forum. Most of the members aren't interested in watching you resolve personal problems live on the TFF. If you are concerned about an interaction with someone and are interested in resolving it, send them an email (if they offer an email address in their forum profile). If you don't get a response, just let it go. They may not be interested in communicating with you.

7. No jokes of a sexual nature just dont post them. We know some are funny, but there are children that browse our forum and we want to set a positive example. Again, we offer one warning - if you persist, you will be banned from the forum.

8. Racism of any kind will not be tolerated.

9. Guides, fishing related businesses, and other web sites, feel free to promote your services here - the only exception to this rule is promotion of a site that is a direct competitor of the TFF or Texas Hunting Forum (THF). We consider the guides an asset to the site. If you don't agree with the use of guides, keep that information to yourself. If a guide is just posting his service, inviting you to check out his web site, let him do so. Hopefully down the road he will offer a few pointers. Guides offer a wealth of information and we want them visiting the site on a regular basis.

10. We cannot allow bashing of our sponsors. They make the TFF possible and we have to respect the fact that they pay our bills. All threads of this nature will be deleted. It is a small price to pay for all the great information on the TFF, and as the man said, "it ain't too smart to bite the hand that feeds ya."

11. When posting items in the "Trading Post - Swap - Classifieds" section, do not use multiple user names to post the same item - also do not post the same item multiple times. If you want to start a new post on an item, delete the old one.

12. Images in signatures: No signature image may be larger than 100 pixels tall by 250 pixels wide. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than 1 row of images are allowed. If you want 4 or 5 logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in 1 row. A row of signature images must not cause the screen to scroll horizontally.

13. Limit your photo size. If they make the screen scroll, they are too large. 600 pixels wide is the larget you need to go.

14. Do not copy and paste articles from other publications to this site. It is a COPYRIGHT VIOLATION to do so. If you want to reference an article on another web site, post a link.

We will be updating this section occasionally. Again, our goal is an open, clean, and friendly format, but when you have a public board rules have to be established and followed.

Please keep in mind that deleting, moving, editing or locking of your post is not intended to be an attack or insult. We have been managing this board since 1998 and have become fairly competent at spotting topics that cause problems. These actions are usually to keep the peace, keep the interaction on the board friendly or keep content in the appropriate section.

If you have any suggestion concerning our rules of conduct, please email suggestions@texasfishingforum.com.

I do get tired of seeing 2 or three mainboard posts on the first page of the striper forum asking for recommendations of a guide service on the same lake. They get the same answers as the post that is two or three posts below theirs.

At one time last week there were three separate posts on the first page of this forum asking us to recommend a guide on Texoma.

I would like to know where your store is too. You may have already met my husband and I.

Send me a PM if you don't want to post it here.

I thought that was what others were doing when they mentioned what they are using to catch fish or who they fished with. The thing is there are a lot of people who read on here all the time. Then there are new people who read, or ones that dont get on here often so the same questions/answers that some of us have heard over/over get thrown out there.

Check out my lures, these slabs will catch your limit and some! we have a website here: www.tntslabs.com I guess my website could have been filled in the blank there. Not for sure if that was the intent or what you were thinking.

There is one thing I will say about that, just a thought. J.J. I dont know you, I know that in the past we have had private messages on here about Texoma fishing. But I dont know where your store is and to be honest I would like to know. I think you should mention your business so others would know about it. This website has a lot of give and take. I think it can be taken that people are pushy on here, heck I am sure there are some that have that opinion. My feeling is so be it. Your not gonna please everyone out there. It will NEVER happen. This website is an awesome website, and JP has really given people the liberty to promote what they are doing. That really is a good deal for anyone. Advertising isnt cheap, and this is a way to reach a lot of people. But the thing to think about is there is a lot of give and take. The guides, baitmakers, and other various businesses share a lot, giving away trips, lures, gifts, etc. at times, and information. I dont hear any complaining when that is going on. I guess that is give and take. My conception on this might be wrong and I might be missing something, but that is my opinion. Keep in mind no hard feelings from me toward you in any way, heck I still wanna know where your business as I like to go to texoma from time to time. Good fishing to ya!

John, thanks for pointing that out...

It just started getting old that people would post up how the fishing is...and a guide or someone would instead of posting up how it is, in turn would post a link to their site or a guides site...

Just seems that over the past month it has gone from threads that posted reports to an abundance of people flooding the topics with pay me and I will take you.

I know I don't have to read them...but when someone posts up about Texoma I will read it...(I live on the lake) and the body of these posts have gotten worse over the last month...

I do enjoy reading entry's here on TFF, but just gotten tired of the guides flooding the threads...

I will say that I enjoy reading JD's reports along with comments Mark Macnamara makes (hope I spelled his name right!)

They don't shove their guide service on anyone...and I respect their comments.

Guess I just wish others could see how they present themselves and follow...but guess that will never happen.

Sorry if I beat a dead horse, or if I started a fight that I shouldn't have...Just got irritated after reading the first three threads yesterday...

Obviously by TexasBlonde's reply there is others that feel the same way I do...

J.J.

Byron, to let you know I wasn't talking about you...

Your lures have sold themselves, and several guides I know have recommended them along with several people of TFF and 6OG's.

Since there has been several people that have asked where my business is located I will tell ya'...

A Little Bit of Texas or www.alittlebitoftexas.net is located at FM 120 and Highport road. Physical address is:
13374 North FM 120
Pottsboro, TX

I am in the shopping center across from the Mobil gas station that everyone uses to get gas before heading over to highport.

I am the guy that has all the geese out in front of the store and the TEXAS flag flying outside...

If you are in the area and want to stop by and say hello...you are more than welcome.

J.J.
