We (the family) are going to Rockport tomorrow. Mom and son like to fish the pier at the resort we stay in every year. There are always plenty of speckled trout but they are 10"-13" long. Never caught a keeper there. Catch them on live shrimp and artificials. Is there some way or somewhere to catch a bunch of whiting or even sand trout one night? I am wore out on the little pier trout. I want to put something in the freezer (I know that rules out sand trout). I always wadefished but mom won't fish anything but a pier now.

late reply, but you can catch them just about anywhere, surf, bay, beach, pier, jetty, etc. dead shrimp, squid, or small pieces of cut bait.
