I haven't fished braid since the 90's but am getting back into fishing and am again considering it, especially on my spinning reel. If I recall, when I used it in the past, it got very water logged. I don't remember the brand I was using. Is this still an issue with the braid? I've seen all the recommendations on the other thread of peoples favorite braids but didn't want to hijack that thread. TIA

Power Pro for me. Never heard of or noticed braid absorbing water.

For me, braid performs better when wet. Haven't had a waterlogging issue with today's braid formulations.

Good deal gentlemen, appreciate it. I'll grab some and give it another try.

Braid is tailor made for spinning reels. Waterlogged? Not sure but it still works very well even at the end of a long day of fishing.

If it’s going on a spinning reel check out some of the “slick” braids like P-Line TC-8 which is Teflon coated or Power Pro Super Slick. They cast smoother and farther and the coating reduces water penetration/absorption.

I believe so after some serious wear/usage-Usually takes a couple years. I’ve noticed the 832 will after using the heck out of it.

I wish more lakes were setup for braid use. It lasts years.

When I noticed it most was fishing an old Strike King Grass Frog. It seemed to bog down the front of the bait and it wouldn't have the same action as it did at the beginning of the day. I never had issues when fishing it with a worm or anything like that.
