Taking my daughter out to WTAMU for vet camp in mid July. Thought about hauling the boat and fishing Lake Meredith for two days while she’s at camp. Never been. Any advice with it being the dog days of summer? Is it worth the effort? Any specific areas of the lake to target?

I was just at Meredith last week. Walleye were great in 10-15 feet of water. By that time they will be much deeper. Had 2 great crappie days there too and caught a couple of smallies on a ned rig.

Meredith at that time will be a little tough for bass and walleye. The crappie is what you need to target. Bass will be on topwater early and crankbaits later if you can find them. Just fish the rocky points for the bass and the mid cove trees for the crappie.
