First time fishing this lake.

It was packed with people and wake board boats.
We started fishing shallow and just had a tough bite everywhere we went. Fished jerkbaits, senkos, rattletrap, frog...and did not get bit....
We decided to move off the shore out into open water about 50'-100' off the banks in 5-10’ of water in coves. There we caught most of our fish. The fish were suspended chasing shad. Since the water is dirty and low visibility , I went with a black and blue chatterbait with a paddle tail minnow trailer. That landed me 6 bass in a couple hours time. Most were 2lbers...largest was 3lbs 6oz. Not too bad.
Very cool lake lots of shore cover but don’t get mesmerized by it... the bass are off shore. Caught most of my bass in just one little area, mainly fished the west side of the lake as the wind was blowing west.
Very noisy lake compared to others (can hear campers and boaters everywhere) but it was also Memorial day weekend.
I plan to try it again after the crowds are gone to see if fishes better. Hope this helps.
