Well, the River had finally fallen to where we made our first trip of the year for white bass. The took my 2 favorite recent grads on a little trip today. Fished from 8 til 1 and we had a great day with 92 whites. They were still a little scattered in smaller schools, but we ran into enough schools to have a great day. Looking forward to the next few months as the big River looks like it will be on a slow fall. We had a few spots where the goo were thick and you had to wade through a number of them.
Hey dh3030, how long you lived in Clinton? We moved to TX from Brandon back in 2016, lived there over 20 years. The wife got her degree from MS College in 2011.
We moved to Clinton in 2014. Grew up just across the river in Newellton, LA. Been fishing these “live†river oxbows all my life. Been focusing on the whites a lot in recent years as my kids really enjoy catching.
I know catching fish in Mississippi, those baits had to be some kind of "fried" color. What color of bait did you catch them on? Fried Shad Fried Perch Fried Electric Chicken
