Keep your forged wedges, but hit hybrids for everything else. You will lose that euphoric experience of hitting a forged three iron off the sweet spot, but you will enjoy hitting the ball higher and straighter with a much larger sweet spot, lower enter of gravity and MOI.

First I would go get help on my swing to get it correct then get club fitted to a correct swing, golftec did a great job with me, I thought I was now at the point of getting fiberglass shafts but my swing was off plane and no rotation was causing distance and and inaccurate shots... my clubs that I had was correct for me all along

I play Mizuno 919 Hot Metal irons, Ping G400 Max driver, 3-wood and 22 degree, Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron putter. Wouldn't change a thing. The irons have the Recoil 95 Graphite shafts. Ping Tour shafts in woods. The new Mizuno Hot Metals are nice.

Adams are some of the easiest to hit clubs on the planet.

I thinking of starting back, I have a set of taylor made blades, a set of pings, and a set of titleist irons that I'm sure I can shank about the same. I question if I can still hit my 7 degree xstif ping driver. I'm old and decrepit. I have about a dozen putters laying around. Hopefully I can still 3 put with any of them like I used to.

I play with a set of Adams Idea Tech clubs, mine are the V4 - 3,4,5 Hybrid, 6,7,8,9 Iron. I'm not great at all but I love hitting the hybrids, you can really crank them for a nice high straight shot, or come down hard and fly low out of the trees. Hybrids are not the same a fairway woods either, I think you have a lot more accuracy and forgiveness with a hybrid.

Also I wouldn't buy them in black, unless you don't care how scratched/worn they get. Have to make sure there's no dirt or anything on the ball or it'll scuff the face.

I can three putt with any putter in the world. You’re not alone.

Don’t remember which hole this is at La Cantera, but the tees are elevated (off top of those bluffs) and you hit toward the roller coaster at Six Flags.

It’s a par 4. I took a big ol’ gorilla swing and sliced a tee shot that went to the very back of the green. 4 putted and bogied the hole.

First question what’s your handicap
over 15 buy game improvement irons. The manufacturer will not matter, the clubs will be forgiving on mis hits. Clubs will never help a bad swing. Get lessons by a PGA professional.

7 to 14 look at player irons. More feel but have some forgiveness, you should be able to shape your shots but have some mis hits less often. Continue with lessons.

Under 6 start to look at tour level clubs, you should be able to play your shots. Take a lesson every now and then,

Before buying clubs after a few swings with a fitter, make sure you play a round or three with loaners. During fitting you are usually concentrating at a high level, getting in the course you will be a normal level of concentration and your swing may be different, effecting the performance of the club. For shaft weight , it not how fast you swing its how good you swing, if tempo is off your balls are going everywhere.

Anyone ever use one of these? I’ve been using one of these since 75. Bent the first one I had standing on it to make it more upright lie. Replaced it with this one about 25 years ago. Wilson Staff 8813

I've been putting my own clubs together a long time.
The shaft is more important than whatever you stick on the end.
