I’ll be within 30 minutes of Lake Limestone for work In a couple weeks. Is it a good Bass lake and worth the time? I’d be happy with action from a bunch of keeper size. If so any guide recommendations?

Thanks

Friend of mine has a place in Buffalo and has fished there countless times.. We're gonna make the trip pretty soon.

From what he told me, it's an outstanding catfishing lake, and a good bass lake as well. That's all I've got though

Its head and shoulders above where it was 5-10 years ago. We have a house on the lake and have been fishing it for over 30 years. TPWD left it unmanaged or unstocked for a long time, for a while you could only catch catfish and hybrids. I wouldnt call it a numbers lake now, but you can catch decent numbers and most are in that 2.5-3# range with an occasional 5-6#er. We rarely have a day of catching dinks.

That's good to hear. I grew up on that lake and learned to bass fish there. The old timers would tell me I was wasting my time going for largies. I rarely caught anything over 2lbs.

It was fun though.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like it would be worth a day. I search on TFF didn’t find a thread about Limestone guide. Guess I’ll use “The Google”.

Cheers

I cant recall any bass guides on Limestone. I know there is a crappie guide or two out there and I can get their information if that interests you. But if you want to give it a go yourself then I can try to point in the direction of spot or two I would try.

Use to fish it alot , have not been in 5+ Years though. in my mind it was a decent bass fishing experience. Use to have good white bass and crappie numbers too.

fishes fairly shallow for black bass.
