Getting a new boat for my small lake, going with MK ulterra with transducers for DI and SI and plan to have a helix 8 g4 with capability to use the imaging. Anyone have a set up with the ulterra and a helix g4 unit? Wondering how well they link and how is the use of the spot, tracking, etc with the two together?

This will be my first foray into electronics and want to make things as user friendly and fishing friendly as possible.

To get motor functions between the Ulterra and Helix, the Ulterra has to the the iPilot LINK model, it is an Ethernet connection.
A Helix needs the AS EC QDE Ethernet Adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to it.

Either the iPilot or iPilot LINK model will do Spotlock, and iTracks with no sonar unit connected.

You would need the Helix 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N to use the built-in MSI transducer and would need the Minnkota MKR-MI-1 adapter to connect the transducer to the display.

Sorry, should have been more clear, the units will have that connectivity and be set up that way.

My questions were more specific toward do those functions work well?
My lake is small, so could i set up a track, and just have the boat slowly drive me around hands free while i fish, and if i get some strikes hot spot hold and just be essentially hands free?

Looking for as low human input as possible, aside from the intial set up and tracks/spots of course.

I'm set up with the Ulterra I-pilot and a G4N Helix, haven't touched my TM yet. I am using the remote and everything works very well. I'm not even sure why Minn Kota supplies a foot pedal with this motor anymore? As a back-up in case my remote batteries die, I downloaded the Minn Kota app to my cell, which enables me to run the motor from my phone. Great set-up.
