Need a new lower unit for a 250 SHO.. Dealer says July if we're lucky..
Guess I can fish close to the ramp.. So what you’re saying is, “if someone has a lower missing in the morning at the hotel, don’t come check your boat???”

"Pretending covid was a farce for 6 months didn't help."
I'd be interested in hearing more how you formed this opinion.
I think if anything if we took it for what it really was/is by statistics we would be in a better situation.
As far as elections go , I do think it's related in that our lovely friends on the left can't seem to let it go away. Well, having some of the highest infection rates in the developed world certainly didn't help. I don't put it all on Trump. The populace was a big part of the problem too. As to who can't let it go, HELLO check recounts in Arizona and potential ones in Georgia. We're at the stupid stage now. Both sides. I'm politically right leaning and generally vote Republican so don't put me in some leftist bin. But I know that covid, deep freeze, canal blockages have had WAY more to do with shortages than Biden being in office for 4 months. These shortages have been building for a long time. I recently worked with a mattress manufacturer on a digital transformation project. I'm an enterprise architect and do business strategy and IT alignments. Trouble is even if I can get more people to their stores and web site, they can't get the mattresses made. This isn't new, it's been a year+ long struggle. Even with hotel demand for new mattresses way down they still have significant supply challenges. I'm not smart enough in supply chain to know all the challenges, but I do know my customers have been dealing with them since last summer and the deep freeze and canal blockage made things much worse. The Biden effect on this comes from extending the unemployment benefits to the point that people don't want to work because they are making more by not working.

I believe 2020 boat and outboard sales were very high. Boat prices skyrocketed. I don't know how to blame anyone or anything on it. I believe the problem that they are experiencing have more to do with production keeping up with sales than production problems.

Engines are run by computers, computers need microchips, microchips come from china.
We need to make our own chips but, ya know, we have child labor laws and minimum wages not allowing to produce things here as needed in a cost effective manner.
China is in control. Covid started there too. Coincidence?

-Fuel is up over a $1.50 a gallon in 6 months -A meal at Whataburger is $10.00 instead of $6.00 -Business can't get employees because they are at home on the dole -We are talking about who can use what bathroom again -The discussion this morning was about who was coming to my home to ask for my AR -The parts we use in our tools are being rationed and they are made right here in Dallas -There are lots of unfinished Peterbuilt trucks sitting up in Denton because parts are being rationed to them and they can't get enough And on and on....
Elections have consequences and covid did as it was designed to do, remove a President. I am not a Trump lover but I am a freedom lover!!! With every ill placed vote we are giving our freedom away little by little... As Earl Pitts says...Wake Up America!!!

I guess some people haven't been paying attention to what is happening in the World and in the US? The biggest dealerships we have in Lufkin and Nacogdoches has less than 2 dozen new cars on the lot. The Toyota dealer is one of them and they have less than a dozen new cars. The Ford dealer just got in a new F350 DRW XLT today and that is the first one in months!

China is in control. Covid started there too. Coincidence? This is partially true . The primary reason for the semiconductor shortage has nothing to do with China . TSMC is a Taiwan Corporation and they are the worlds largest Foundry supplier to tons of tech companies. Currently TSMC is quoting 50+ weeks to deliver products . Once it leaves TSMC , it goes to packaging and test companies like ASE ( Taiwan and a little China ) . Typically TSMC delivers in 10-12 weeks , ASE typically delivers in 4 weeks . Combine both companies --- and right now your getting 60-70 weeks before delivery of a finished semiconductor product . Then , if that's not bad enough , add another 4-6 weeks for a CM to build whatever " widget " is using the chip . UNPRECEDENTED lead times for the Global Semiconductor world . Hundreds of tech companies will NOT survive this . All of this has more to do with change in behaviors created by COVID . People started buying WAY more of certain products at levels NEVER before seen . PC's , electronic widgets of all kinds , servers ( that power the digital world ) , bikes , fishing equipment , toys , TV's etc.... The boomerang effect of this will be incredibly interesting and possibly very risky financially . If it gets really bad , I don't believe the Biden Dems will know what to do . Fasten your seat belts , it's going to get very bumpy .

It’s a combination of things, obviously, and doesn’t fall on one person. I had to buy a new phone the first week of March 2020. Even back then, there was a shortage on electronics and all Verizon could get was iPhones in weird colors. I had to take the lesser of three evils, a hideous bright red phone, rather than a weird blue or pink. It will unwind as the world starts to catch backup, but it’s a global economy and a global pandemic shut it down for a long time.

a lesser known component of the equation relates to the backlogs at the major ports due to covid related issues. I can't speak as to now, but in March there was a 4-6 WEEK backlog at the port of los angeles due to like 70% of the longshoremen being out with covid. the ports of galveston and houston were also backlogged several weeks. just to add to the problems related to product availability.
