Well.... thanks for the spoiler alert! Damn.

I was reading where Mark Harmon’s contract was up and they couldn’t get a new one signed. He had walked away. The studio folks said without Gibbs, we will cancel the show. That brought him back to the table and he signed a new contract.

Here’s my take on the finale.

1). There was a short scene where Tim came by the house. Gibbs was working on the floor and said he was “remodeling”. He was pulling up the floor so he could get the boat out.

2). After the boat exploded, there was a shot under the water showing Gibbs floating lifeless. He made a strong stroke and began swimming off, so he’s fine. It was a setup so he could fake his death.

3). Now that he’s dead, Gibbs is going off the grid which frees him up to investigate stuff that he couldn’t as an NCIS agent.

4). Bishop left NCIS. She and Gibbs had a conversation where she chewed him out for abandoning them. Now that he’s “dead” and off the grid, he’s going to help Bishop.

That’s my take on the season end.

They never explained how he got the boats (yes, boats plural, he has built several over the years) out of the basement.

I like the new character Special Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). She will be back for Season 19 and beyond if there is a beyond.

Just read where Emily Wickersham is leaving the show. I guess Katrina Law will be her replacement.
