Many moons ago I would be hitting behind the dam about right now.
After heavy rains, and those gates open, a Bill Lewis rattle trap would pull them in.

I haven't fished the lake in years, so I don't have any up to date info.

I fished it the first week of May. The high water and all the junk floating made it hard. Probably caught about a dozen hybrids that week. Biggest about 6lbs. Best bait was a 1/2 oz live image rattling bait. Live bait should slay them.

Yes there are some nice hybrids in Proctor. Like was said above the higher water and [censored] floating around its a little tougher bite. Around the island and the peninsula are good areas. Let us know how you do.

I've fished for them one time and first trip out I got into an incredible top water bite around the peninsula north of the dam. Be careful because the hybrids I caught were the size of white bass and can be very very tricky to tell them apart if you get in a hurry or too excited. Would not be funny for a GW to stop you and find illegal hybrids in the cooler : (

I've fished it 3 times. All 3 times we caught fish but all 3 times had to bust my tail to stay on them. Biggest Hybrid that was ever put in my boat came out of Proctor too. I didn't weigh it but I've had an 11 in my boat and it was bigger than that.

The big point to the east of Promontary point used to be pretty good. We always caught a lot of sandbass around the island and the ledge by the spillway
