So you add a cup of beef stock and pork butt in a crock pot. After 4 hours add barbecue sauce.

Total cook time on low 8 hours?

Is it really this simple???

YSK - Albertsons has pork butts for .88 cents per lb with the Albertsons App on your phone!

I put it in the crock pot sometimes after smoking it for 3-4 hours. It turns out very good. I am sure that method would be good also

That’s how m grandmother made North Carolina-style pulled pork and it was delicious. I did it once back when I lived in an apartment and it turned out great. I forget the recipe, but it’s very easy.

Beef stock will give off a little bit of beef flavor. Try chicken or vegetable stock to let the full pork flavor come through.

I rub the butt with seasoned salt and place it fat side up in the crock pot. Then I put on it brown sugar, brown mustard, Sweet Baby Ray's, and a rough cut onion. Add a little apple juice and cook it on low for about 8 hours.

Put it in a little bit of smoke for a few hours, and then finish it off in the crockpot. Been there done that, and it turns out excellent

A rub of salt, pepper and season to your taste. Then in my pressure cooker.
Let it heat up, cook for an hour and 10 minutes then let it cool down on its own.
2 1/2hrs time from start till you uncover and it falls apart.

Some people like it sweet but everyone here likes it without.

I do a pork roast (not a shoulder) in the oven and shred it up and mix it with bbq sauce and some red wine vinegar, it’s pretty dang good on a sandwich

I let it sit uncovered in fridge overnight with rub on it....then place on bed of sliced yellow onions in crock pot.....pour a can of root beer around it, turn it on low and 6-8 hours the bone will pull out....add bbq sauce to individual servings....shred the pork in it's own juice.....it's honestly as good as smoking it to me.....just no bark

Put some cream of mushroom and lipton onion soup mix with some water to cover.

I cut my pork butt into 2x3 cubes, smother in rub then put it in a Dutch oven pot with onions, carrots, lard, fresh squeezed orange juice, vegetable stock, hot sauce. Take the Dutch oven without lid, place it in my pellet smoker for 3 hours at 425. Comes out perfectly rendered and like super moist meat to pull the pork. No more 8 hour sessions. It also makes a great soup. Pour the liquid in a bowl, place into fridge. Next day s scrape the top layer of hard grease off to the trash, voila soup for the week.

Cheers
