So I went fishing at Ray Roberts Saturday and left a little water in my bait tank. I just opened up the tank and discovered this little critter about a half inch long swimming around. It appears to be a fish louse of the genus Argulus. They are a fish parasite.

It appears to be a fish louse of the genus Argulus. They are a fish parasite. I believe you are correct sir. It’s about 1/2”-3/4” long. I’ve been fishing all my life and have yet to see one.
