After using a small Pit Boss to get familiar with pellet smokers, I went ahead and bought the bad boy from Rectec...Put it together last night and initial burn. This thing is STOUT. Handles are heavy metal, hinges not cheap thin stuff...its built to last, can't wait to get it going today. Also got the smoke box accessory and a pallet of pellets. I hope you have better luck with it then some I know Do tell....heard nothing but high praise for Rectec. What do I need to know about these issues from "some I know" ?

A buddy bought the same one. Its really nice. I don't care for the horn handles, but I like that big front tray. Very nice grill. I have a Pitboss myself.

The Hopper is on the backside. My son has had his for two years now and have fought this thing for the last year. He has just about every part you need on theses things. Customer service is outstanding.
I had a PittBoss 800 for two years now and I am in the same boat. I gave up on it and it is now in the dumpster.
All the parts for Rectec come from China...just saying.
I went out and bought me a Oklahoma Joe pellet smoker to get us by until my Yoder gets here. Yoder is 4 months out.

Congrats!
My RT680 (the earlier generation of the 700) has been marvelous for 5 years now. I have the side box and the cart. The cart is great if you have to move it regularly. I was a stick burner for about 20 years. I’ll never go back to baby sitting a fire.
