To seal....or not to seal....that is the question! lol.

How many of you guys seal your cork on new rods?

I sealed some for awhile. They seemed slick and harder that I like. I quit sealing last 4 or 5 new rods I purchased.

I seal mine. They feel a bit different but stay cleaner and feel less slippery when wet.

Don't seal and if I feel the need to clean...magic eraser does the trick quite well

I seal with U40. I personally like the feel and color and hate seeing worn out cork. Just my opinion.

Seal all mine, never found a down side. The cork has never felt harder, or slippery, and after many years they still arent pitting.

What's the trend in rods? Are they still using a lot of cork or is the foam and winn grips gaining ground?
