a friend gave me a pack of tiny fly floats, I fished them over a 1/64th oz wide gap hook jigheads, and a plastic frog. no extra weight, fished on 4 lb line... The float does not make a splash in the water, and the frog falls slowly. I like the small cork because theres less chance the crappie feels resistance as they take it under. the corks I have has a slit in the middle with a rubber line keeper, but the same color and size as the ones pictured This will be my go to combo next year.!

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I like to change the blades out with a french style blade, number 0.. it changes the wobble and fish cant pass it up. Mepps uses the french stlye blades on alot of thier lures, and I think its what makes them, great.

Does fine for small - med. size lures. Even started using a wire leader to combat pickerel stealing my lures. Hasn't affect the strikes from even 6" crappie and other fish.

interesting , is the steel leader to keep the line from getting knicked? Always fun to see how anglers made modifications to thier rigs to adapt to different situations.

LP One of the best things about braid is that it stands up to the usual nick-causing structure, unlike mono which doesn't. I don't use braid for any other reason and like how it allows best light lure action. Pickerel have razor-sharp teeth and slice through all line types but only if caught between the teeth. This one didn't get away: LP, Does the frog you pictured catch crappie?
