Thinking of making the trip to Texoma for the first time. Are there any restrictions to having a concealed handgun on the boat? I have a LTC. Where are the good public boat ramps on the south side near Little Mineral arm and the dam?
Thanks Phantom Fisherman

I'm not sure on the concealed handgun question as you will need to know the laws for TX & OK.
Eisenhower has a good ramp and the ramp next to the dam on the TX side is excellent.

Thanks for ramp info. I know the Tx laws but have heard Corp of Engineers have extra restrictions. Donโt know for sure.

Thanks Phantom Fisherman Little Mineral Marina is a good place with good security and great boarding docks if you come early have number to call to get in handy $5 launch.

I think typically COE lakes are no go for conceal carry due to being federal property. The feds eased up for national parks but that didn't apply to Coe lakes. I am not 100% sure of this, but I have heard it from some le folks albeit a couple years ago.
Of course there is the old adage, better to ask forgiveness than permission and also the classic , judged by 12 or carried by 6. Not suggesting anything illegal, but...

Ramps, if the wind is not north, the spillway ramp is good but you have to beach on some gravel by the ramp. If you have a state park pass, Eisenhower is great except the long idle out. Simmons shore is in the back of little mineral and pretty good ramp but is only open 6a to 10p I think. Grandpappy is good option but you have to walk a ways uphill to park.

It is my understanding that Corp of engineers does not allow concealed carry on Texoma. This was told to me by another CCL guy. I just took him at his word, since he typically keeps up with such stuff. I have never actually verified. I would be more concerned about having all the proper safety items on board cause they are gonna ask about that, never been asked about a gun.

After talking with a Corp Ranger at Lake Proctor this is what I understand, Currently it is illegal to carry on Corp property. If you can launch from non-Corp ramps (TPWD for example) then you can carry on the water. The ranger told me the Corp is now in the long process of changing this rule to be more like carrying on National Forest or National Park land. He told me you could write a letter to regional Corp office and request permission if you wanted to go that route. Be glad when Corp rules match state rules! Thanks to those who responded with input!
