I am not a except by any means. We flip a lot of house in northern Wyoming and I have as just typing what I have seen the experts do

Not trying to shut you down. Just that did not work for me. Clearly you were doing it differently than I tried if you have had good results. How do you deal with the cut in's on the doors when rolling? I found I had to go back with a brush and that messed it all up. Spraying was for sure the deal. Eliminated all those issues. Also found that if you used those $10 brushes...that would not work at all. I did brush the frames on the boxes and that came out fine but its a small area compared to the doors. And again, had to take my time and use a really nice brush. Foam brushes then roller over it to smooth out really good rollers smooth low nab rollers Rollers were to get excess paint out after foam brushes Foam brushes. Yes I kind of looked at those but did not go that route too far after getting some other feedback from guys who felt really good about the sprayer route. That might be option for Mud if he wants to try that on the cabinets. Good news if the foam brushes and rollers don’t work, sand it down and go get a sprayer LOL

I might just settle on a color I can get in a rattle can. The conversation above is the same I have been having with the wife and it’s why I’m so frustrated. There doesn’t seem to be a good answer.

Man I dont know about that idea. Spray painting cabinets... hmmm give it a shot and let us know! If you want to borrow my spray rig and you can pick up/drop off in DFW I am glad to loan you mine. Its been beat up and battered around but it works fine still. Once you see how awesome it is you will get one of your own and paint many many things!

Danny, I have two paint sprayers in my shop that you can borrow. I bought both at Lowes and have used them to paint the house, fence, and cabinets. You can buy different spray tips at Lowes depending on what type of paint you are spraying. Try them out and see if they will work for your project.

Can we all come over, drink beer and watch you get overspray all over everything including you wife’s car!!! Come on over! I have to cut up a tree today though I’ve always wanted to see someone cut up a tree and paint it.

Scott Scott is likely closer to you Mudshark. My offer stands as well should you be in the DFW area. You could even try out 3 rigs and see which might work best for you if you want to purchase in the future. Keep us posted on your project amigo!

You're welcome to use mine, but I think you're a long ways from Argyle. Let me know if you'd like to borrow it. Graco handheld and it will spray cabinets just fine with a little practice.

Scott I just might take you up on that! My painting project too a backseat to a fallen tree today. Big oak twisted off about 20 feet up and fell across the neighbors fence. My paint sprayer budget just went towards a new chainsaw. This job was bigger than the battery powered saw could handle. It’s always something!

Quite possibly the worst time of my life, I almost set the house on fire intentionally. The turning point in the project was when she wanted hidden hinges. We were still talking about staining the cabinets at this point. Well...what about all those holes where the old hinges were? Stainable wood putty my [censored]. The stain soaks into the putty much darker than the wood around it. I even went so far as buying dowel rods and a drill bit to hammer the rods home so the stain might soak into the rods and match the wood around them. Nope. I’m in to far to stop now. This will be a huge disaster.
