I've got some pipes in my house that are making a noise. No to be crass, but it sounds exactly like a farting noise. That's the best way I can describe it. It happens intermittently, but I'd say every couple of minutes on average. Like breaking wind, the noise only lasts for a second or two, so it's been impossible for me to pin down exactly where it's coming from. This seems to have started after I got my backflow preventer valve replaced for my sprinkler system about 1.5 months ago. Any OT wisdom on what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Turn off the water to your sprinkler system and see if the noise stops.

Do you have Anti-freeze outdoor hose faucets? They are designed to bleed off pressure over time after you shut off the hose. If you leave the valves on, ours will make noise like that. Make sure your outside spigots are turned off. I dunno, that's all I got.

Do you have high water pressure?

Considered making a graph?

Is it near the water heater? It might be sediment bubbling sounds.
