Doesn't hurt to ask. I'm working on a 2000 Suzuki 500 myself.

Sorry, been out a few days. So here is the problem....
I have a 1995 Polaris Magnum 425 4x4 that I got from a good friend of mine. It has been sitting up for about two years. I have done a lot of work on it and got it running really well, but I’m having problems with the brakes. All the brakes were frozen so I cleaned all the rotors, rebuilt all the calipers, replaced the pads and flushed the entire system. When I was bleeding the brakes I noticed I was not getting any flow from the right front brake. I figured out the brake line was clogged so I spent $90 to replace the right front brake line. I am getting good clean fluid on all three calipers when I bleed the system. I have also replaced the master cylinder. I cannot get the system to maintain pressure and it is driving me crazy. I’m a pretty good home mechanic and working on brakes is nothing new to me. I have bled the brakes multiple times, I have used a vacuum pump on the brakes to help with them, I have done a gravity bleed, I have left the system open overnight at the master cylinder, and I still can’t figure it out. Once I have bled the system, I can pump the brake lever 2 to 3 times and have really good pressure. If I let off the lever for a second and squeeze again there’s no pressure. I even pumped the lever and got really good pressure and zip tied the lever to the handle and checked it an hour later and had pressure. That tells me the system is not leaking. I am open to suggestions.

does the foot pedal work them?
parking brake work? usually a lever on the left handle that locks the handle back.
check the master cyl. for holding pressure using the vacuum pump on the line out from it, you may have a bad master cyl. I have had that happen once on a truck I rebuilt.
take an air hose and a blow tip, try blowing back from the caliper line to master cyl. and see if it will blow thru the master cyl.

I like Hops idea. Try a new master cylinder. I replaced one on my old Jeep this winter. After 2 weeks of messing with it I returned the MC and got a new one. It fixed the problem. Bad master cylinder out of the box, was a first for me but I learned a lesson on that one.

You might try Todd Kerby. He works on Polaris and is in Rowlett. Not sure if he will give you advice since he makes his living on them but he helped me once. I have heard he has all the business he can handle right now. 972.896.1002

Did you bleed the master cylinder before attaching the brake lines? Is the seal on the master cylinder cover good?
