I seen quite a few boats on the lake this weekend, we were fishing from our dock and watching scenes from the deadliest catch, it was a windy son of a gun, I bet the rollers were 25 plus feet apart on the main lake.

Man that lake can get bad, you can get somewhere and damn near not get back when the wind gets up

Is the Oklahoma hush school championship there at the same time I was told it was but I talked to a couple of HS teams there last weekend and they were fishing the state tourney then.. With that said, I dont know how many HS organizations there are in Oklahoma.... so it could be crowded this weekend.

Anyone hear the reason why they moved the weigh in from Highport? Weigh in at the dam ramp could get interesting. Best I can tell there is about 80 parking spots there and nowhere to beach boats. Hopefully that field around the dam ramp is rock. If not it's liable to be a muddy congested mess.

So if it's the Texas state championship, do the competitors have to fish the water in Texas?

Apparently there is something going on at highport (construction I think) and there isnt going to he enough room there.

A 200 boat tournament takes up every parking spot in the marina. And a highschool tournament would need twice that many spots for 200 boats.

Hopefully that field around the dam ramp is rock. If not it's liable to be a muddy congested mess. The new owners of Highport Marina told us that they were putting (or already may have put in) some of the pipe type barrier that is something like 2-3 foot high around a lot of areas, limiting parking big time. Plus, they don't seem too interested in hosting tournaments there anymore. With them either already taking away a bunch of parking or doing so very soon, Highport just wasn't going to work out. High school fishing is different with all of the families that attend the weigh in with their school logo canopy tents, cookers, etc., it's more like a tailgate atmosphere. We need a large space with 277 teams qualified. I mean, look what happened when we had to move at the last minute for the Regionals at Pines. It worked out, but it was big time congested to say the least. At least we have a large enough space available for this event. As far as the field we can use around the dam ramp, a lot of it is rock based so it shouldn't be a problem with a "muddy, congested mess".
