Just wondering which you prefer? I really like the MLF style, BASS has the Marshall but they don’t do anything unless it’s on fork. So why have one just use a go pro or a remote feed, or is that how they pay the anglers?

I prefer the MLF style. Wish they would do this in the crappie fishing world myself.

Watch both but much prefer BASS. MLF is kinda like a tricked up reality tv show to me. Glad several top anglers are coming back to BASS.

Except for Palaniuk I don't think the others were really that good at showing up without practise and getting on the fish. And maybe Hackney.

I've been a member of BASS for over 50 years and have followed their events mainly though the magazine. But along comes something new with a format that has been at Lake Fork since 2008 that they took the best from to create the MLF. I have participated in 2 of them as a judge and was the guy in charge of their camera boats at the first Toyota Texas Bass Classic.

But when we started our bass club we chose to go with the five fish format. However we catch, record and release on the spot and slots count. It was an easy jump to add a MLF format on the other 2 weeks each month.

So which do I prefer. The one that is kinder to the resource (the fish).

BASS by far. Just can’t get interested much in MLF. Still watch it occasionally.

I prefer watching a pro fish for the biggest 5 over more little fish.

I do like the increased and variable minimum weights in MLF, it has forced anglers to seek out a little better quality. Seems anglers winning this year are the ones finding better quality. That’s a huge improvement in my eyes.

MLF live coverage is far better IMO.

I hope both succeed and anglers have the choice which circuit fits them better.

I’m really curious as to what his harder on a lake. Keeping 5 fish in a livewell or the top fishermen in the country trying to catch as many fish as they can. I doubt professionals are killing many fish in the 5 fish format, although I do like seeing a big female able to return right back to her bed.

I watch them both live and like both. I think MLF is set up better for watching live and Bass is better watching the final edited version. I don’t watch the edited version of MLF

Like them both but wish BASS would weigh and release like they did a week or so again at Fork. That is much better for the resource.

I’m old school and I’ll stick with a big five a day style tournament like BASS.
