I've gone with Steve Barnes a few times and we've always caught our limit. Lots of guys on here swear by JD Lyle. I've gone to a few of his seminars and he seems very popular. Most guides are booked on weekends right now though. You'll probably have to go during the week.

STRIPER EXRESS there the best striper guide on texoma. they will put u on the fish. ive been with them many times, and ive never not caguht my limit. most of the time they dont use live bait, unless they absolutely have to. and instead, really teach u how to catch em with lures

Striper express.. the best ???? define best...With them and with others like Tinker you never know who your guide is gonna be.. they hire young kids who show up drunk and on drugs and then wanna take you back to the dock as fast as they can get a limit caught...I know because i've been with both over the years, among others.
When I call a guide, I want to fish with that guide based on his talent and reputation. Call those others and you'll never know what your gonna get until you show up to the dock... If your lucky. More than a couple times some of these guys above havent even shown up at the dock. These services get real big and then Just try to get on the boat with Tinkler or Bill carey... It aint gonna happen because neither has fished in many many years.
I dont want some boat driver to drive me around. I want a "Guide"
2 years ago I asked the same question on this board looking for a new guide up there and JD Lyle got numerous rave reccomendations from the TFF gang. I tried him out based on those reccomendations and have fished with him about a dozen times in the last 2 years. Sorry but we did not catch our limit all 12 times. This past April when the fishing really sucked ,JD called me and told me the fishing was real bad and we should reschedule. Well I went anyway and yes it was a tough day but I have never seen JD work so hard as I did that day. We still caught fish ,in fact more than most of the other boats out there that day.
Jd is the most professional guide I have been with on any body of water. He has one of the best boats ive ever seen and uses all top of the line equipment.
Asking for guide reccomendations on here is a funny thing. Everyone gets on here and says "my guide is better than your guide" . Seen it many times.
We hold "our" guides in high esteem kinda like our barber or favorite waitress at a restaurant.
I'm betting before this is over you will see many of JD's customers get on here and rave about him as they always do and have done for years.

Thank you so much for your truthfulness!....and yes a guide to me is someone that fishes with a passion.....loves it....knows the lake.....knows when fishing is good or bad and willing to admit it!
My son loves to fish....and has been fishing all over.....including Guatemala.....Gulf....and others. And it definitely matters what "guide" you get!....love the ones that work at it!
Thanks again guys!

(Hey gasman....who's Mark with?)

Went with Matt above and Captain Steve Barns was very good. Limit all 3 times.
We met JD Lyle and he and mark are great. I would go with them or Steve Barns.

We have gone with Rex Bridges guide service twice and limited out both times and he really knows where the fish are and fishes daily. He has a huge boat, good equipment, good personality and didn't make us feel rushed to get a limit and leave. We really have fun with him. Then he let us fish off his private dock afterward also. He also taught us a lot about reading the graph and getting ahead of the school. We would get all set up and then bam all the poles hit at once every time. He has great timing. He is a true character and funny as heck. We have another trip planned with him this fall. I have never been out with any other Texoma guides since we were very pleased with his services. Had a couple of bad experiences with guides on other lakes though. Rex made the others look like amateurs. He had good prices and gives a discount coupon for your next trip too.

hey this is crazy!i just recently got into computers and thought this site was amazing.a place to talk to other fisherman and maybe book a trip or two...since 9-11 striper express has downsized to 2-3 boats and have a good crew.gasman i don't know what could have happened and whatever did it's a shame.there are many GREAT guides on texoma.you know what i say when asked who the best guide is on the lake...i smile and say "what day" lol.we have always done what it takes to please clients and will continue to do so!

I vote for Rex. Always done a good job for me. But then again, I haven't fished with the others mentioned.

good luck, rip 'em up.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I always sound like a broken record:

Mark Macnamara http://www.texomasportfishing.com

JD Lyle http://www.texomaguide.com

Simply as good as they get. The knowledge you will gain is well worth every penny
