Would you rather have 18 foot aluminum triton with 115 hp Mercury or a 17 ft fiberglass with a 115 mercury and why. Thanks for your opinions.

Personally, I already have a 20 foot Cat so I would want the tin rig to fish in the junk and really shallow.

After having an aluminum rig for a number of years then moving to a glass rig I don't think I could every go back to a tin rig permanently. Wind just moves them around too much/too quick....Dan

aluminum just has a weird feeling like its more forgiving in the rough stuff... also big con of the triton aluminum is the fact they all come with the Minn Kota® Edge 45lb 12v.... I think the triton aluminum is a really nice boat but for the same price you can get a ranger lol

I live in the heart of Northeast Texas, so have many smaller lakes that have lots of structure. I had a big Skeeter, but bought a G3 back a few years back and now love the fact I can get way back in rough places. Wind has never been a factor, I have dual Talons and have always had a TM with spotlock. If you fish tournaments and spend most of your time on bigger lakes, then you may want to consider a fiberglass boat.

Rarely fish tournaments but sometimes I travel to fork, ivie, and falcon. Plan on getting spot lock on whatever boat I decide to buy.

Get the glass, I fished from a tin boat for 15 years wind kicks your butt every time. Spot lock don’t help when the bow moves 3 feet up and down. Also as mine aged I had cracks that appeared in the hull. Fix them and they show up elsewhere. There’s a speed at which is around 23-27 mph that’s the best ride after that you plow because the bow comes back down not like glass where the boat rides on top the water. With a 17 your not going to draft much more compared to a tin boat. My 2c Good luck with what ever you chose.

I have glass and tin. Each has it's own place.
