My first grade teacher was also my godmother. She would let me come to class early and watch felix the cat before the kids came in

That's crazy. Substitute Corpus for Nac and every detail in your post matches our next door neighbors 100%. This would have been late 60's - early 70's. Do you remember the guys name? The guy in Corpus was named Frank Head. I think he owned some furniture stores in San Antonio later on. He always called his wife "the lovely Miss Martha Lynn" on the show.

Ours was Hank and Juanita Huggins and the Double H Ranch Hour in Lufkin. The lead guitar was a local sheetrock guy. Juanita played the bass fiddle and Hank picked guitar and sang.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Loved Mr. Wizard and his science.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Well done! I was wondering if I was the only one. I only remember Sky King from the radio show. Our local talent in those days was Curly Fox and Texas Ruby.
