The A-10 flying gun. I would love to go on a pig hunt with one.

Have been in the AF 18 years now and its the ONLY plane I want an incentive flight in!!!! Gun has to be fired though otherwise not as cool lol...

I had to refuel these things. we parked in front, but I never felt at ease.

The A-10 is bad to the bone. I saw one put on a maneuverability demo once at Langley around 75 or 76. It was incredible how slow it could go and still stay in the air and turn on a dime.

We got buzzed by a couple on Toledo Bend. I was so hoping he would give us a Brrrpppp.

Back in the mid seventies and 80's Barksdale and England AFB had active A10 unit(s). They trained by making mock runs on duck blinds, remote buildings, well sites and such away from the cities. I was always amazed how they could slip up on you. Almost never heard them coming in for the attack, bad guys would stand a chance, scared the carp out me on occasion, and of course they were not firing the gun. Them boys were good too, i would swear some of them flew so low on some attack runs you could look down at them..

48 years and going strong, that's one fine piece of engineering.
