They seem to be direct competitors and trying to decide which I want to buy… the rt188 is crazy nice but almost the exact same price as the tracker 190. Which would you choose and why? Looking for some feedback on people that own either or.

Ranger hands down. Way better built. If it was me, I would not buy either. I refuse to buy anything from Johnny Morris. I would look at Crestliner, Avid, or Vexus.

I had a tracker tx17 for awhile and am upgrading to a larger boat , also want the bigger motor, and the tracker center in Burleson seems to be willing get whichever boat to me by next week. Hate to spend 30k cash but they are willing to negotiate on a cash deal.

If you want the same hull and save a little money...check out the Triton 18TX. I had a 2017 and it was a great boat. Very stable fishing platform, and rode pretty well for an 18 foot aluminum. It’s basically a RT 188 with less fancy seats and console. I had it on a galvanized trailer. Great little boat. Sold it here on the TFF.

I hate to say it...because i own a tracker....if you are going new I would go with the ranger.

Im not a member of any ranger groups on facebook, so hard for me to see complaints...but I am a part of some tracker groups on facebook. When it comes to brand new.....i have seen some simple fixes that just werent done by tracker and corners cut. If you are buying used where you can likely see/know all the issues a tracker is still a good option(love mine and its a tank). But brand new Id think Ranger is the right move....I get trackers are entry level, but it just seems like the newer gen stuff is just not as sturdily built looking at all the complaints i see on the groups.

If you are on facebook, join a couple of the groups....just like on here the complainers are the most vocal, so you can do some scrolling through those pages to get a decent feel on what the boat owners are facing when owning these boats.

When I was doing my shopping years ago....crestliner is what I wanted after all my research, but they were noticeably pricier. Like the other posters mentioned....maybe search around because aluminum has come a loooooong way.

From what I have seen walking past them the Ranger looks like a better build quality, I think the Ranger name could help later on with resale value.........

We were looking at the same ones and chose the Ranger.

If I were doing it today I might choose the Ranger again but I would certainly look at the Vexus and possibly a Crestliner but there are no dealers anywhere near me for them.

I looked at both and ordered the Ranger.

I’m not a person that’s gets “loans” I would rather pay cash so I don’t get screwed on financing plus it’s only 30k they went down 2k from sticker with cash upfront.

I have a tracker pro team tournament eddition it’s comes with 2 graphs which I upgraded and a 24c trolling motor which I will be upgrading but it rides smooth in the water and is fairly good in refuge water it is a great boat all around had a few mechanical issues at first but they fixed it fast and fixed it good

Typically yes, but in theory they could record it as a 25k sale on the books and pocket 5k w/o paying taxes or whatever they decide....

I think you are correct… I talked them down 2k which is now what they are gonna charge me to install my ultrex and solix units.

2K for installing a TM and a couple units?!
