Pretty hard to contend over a long period of time. The trail is a total grind. It gets tougher as you get older plus more on the money making business side. Lots of money being made outside the tournaments. It’s a young mans game. Takes lots of time one the water to stay up with the newest in baits and electronic.

Hard to keep the hunger up over time. It’s amazing some like KVD continue to go out on the trail with the money he can make outside of it.

Wheeler is the new Van Dam.

Maybe. You'd sure have to put Rick Clunn at least in that conversation. Who knows...maybe the new electronics geniuses will surpass all of the GOATS.

True. But I have never seen a Clunn bobble head....and the dude goes to weigh in barefoot. Haha.

Steez, ya think Clunn would approve a bobble head??? LOL! Not in a million years! He def dances to the beat of a different drummer, but man...longevity and success = GOAT material and he's been doing as longer than any of them that are still relevant!

I don't see the intensity in KVD these days like he was when he was young and hungry. He's got nothing left to prove.

I remember after he had his last AOY run he got really into deer hunting with his sons and lost some of the fire. He did win again after people started saying he was washed up maybe that will happen again but I don't see him winning Tour events in his 70's like Clunn has done twice recently. Although at this point Clunn either wins or sucks.

I don’t think we’ve seen the the last of KVD winning. Let’s see what happens when they head north.

They have the 2 year average for 2019/2020 on the site. Surprisingly, he’s 33rd. It’s not the KVD greatness we all grew to know but all things considered he’s in the top 50%.

It’s like any other sport...if you don’t win the event then people are going to have to look it up. Anything 2nd or worse is forgotten.
