A few years ago, there was a pit bull breeder on TV news. He said the breed was created to fight. He also said it wasn"t a matter of if it would attack but when. A lady I worked with had a pit bull and insisted it was sweet and friendly to everyone. Then, a niece with a child moved in with her. It was only a few weeks until the child was in the emergency room for stitches primarily in the head. You can have one if you want. If it gets in my yard or comes at me, it will come home in a bag. I asked this earlier....if the breed is a straight killer and that's universal....how come with 4.5 million of them in the US (y'alls numbers given) and over the last 10 years an average of 359 per year of them maul or kill, why is that such a tiny fraction of a percentage??

This is Nikki and tj I grew up with these dogs . Tj fought and Nikki was used to breed . locked in cages and beaten, over bred , yada yada ect ect So the story goes My biological dad went over to the dudes house dude owed him bunch of money dad didn’t like the guy anyways and saw the dogs so he took them and said he’d be back next week lol. Got them home cleaned them up , loved them , no cages ,no chains , had me a year or so later . Best damn dogs I’ve ever had they slept with me played with me watched over me as I rode them like horses and pulled there ears and stuck my fingers in there nose as youngsters do

Good looking dogs Nick! Dozer 14 and Hannah 13 years old RIP. Both died of old age and they never tied to eat anyone’s face off. Dozer the male red nose, was as docile as it gets while Hannah the Staffordshire would take your hand off if you weren’t careful while playing with a ball. She wanted you to throw it but she didn’t want you to have it either. I also grew up with a pit bull with no issues, but with that being said, I don’t condone having pits in the house with small kids.

They all look cute and cuddly when young but if you have small kids why put urself in a potentially bad situation.

Actually I have had many, many dogs in my life, so far, from the dogs on the farms in the 1940's to now, many breeds even two Akitas (Bread and born to attact bears) we now have an aged Aussie and a Lafsa Apso, I have always noticed one thing when getting a dog, THE EYES, and have yet to see a Pit Bull with warm friendly eyes. not the most scientific, however, works for me. Your choices alre always, assume, support, feed and care and love, and to me CONTROL.

I don't believe I've ever commented in any pit bull topic, but I happen to click on this one and watched the video from a few pages back.
The pit attacks a carriage horse, and there's one lady trying to stop the dog.
I didn't research, and the video starts as the dog is already in full attack mode.
I wonder if the dog got loose, or she let it off the lease or what are the details.
Addendum: I did not watch with the volume "up." I didn't want to listen. Addendum II: Pits, what to do, what to do, if anything? Those people who love them and swear that "their pits" are the best family dogs ever, are probably correct, and any dog can be aggressive. The bad part is that when pits become angry and unleashed, they do major damage.
